Anxiety therapy that treats the whole person
You don't have to keep white-knuckling it through every meeting, every drive home, every 3 a.m. spiral. Anxiety is treatable — and it responds well to therapy that takes both your thoughts and your body seriously.
In person in Oak Lawn, IL & Marietta, GA · Telehealth across Illinois, Georgia & Florida

Growth & Guidance was founded by Jalinia Logan, LCSW — a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) who came to psychotherapy after years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. That combination shapes how our whole practice approaches anxiety: we watch for the loop between what you're thinking, how your body is bracing, and what your day-to-day is actually asking of you.
Anxiety rarely arrives alone. It piggybacks on sleep loss, on grief you haven't had time to sit with, on being the person everyone leans on, on a body that's been dismissed by other providers. We slow that down. We give it a name. And then we build tools you can use in the middle of a Tuesday, not just in session.
How we help
Our clinicians draw on approaches with strong evidence for anxiety — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to interrupt catastrophic thinking, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to loosen the grip of avoidance, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for the moments when emotion feels bigger than you.
- CBT for worry loops, panic, and 'what if' thinking
- ACT so you can move toward what matters without waiting for the fear to leave first
- DBT distress-tolerance and grounding skills for panic and dissociation
- Mindfulness and paced breathing tied to your specific body signals
- Coordination with your medical team when a physical piece needs ruling in or out
- Support for high-functioning anxiety — the version nobody notices from the outside

Common questions
-
How do I know if what I'm feeling is really anxiety?
Anxiety shows up as more than nervousness — racing thoughts you can't shut off, muscle tension, a stomach that won't settle, sleep that won't come, or feeling on edge without a clear reason. If any of that has been running in the background for weeks, that's worth talking about. A consult is a good place to start.
-
What actually happens in an anxiety session?
Early on, we map what your anxiety looks like — triggers, body signals, what you've already tried. From there we teach practical tools drawn from CBT, ACT, and DBT, and pair them with grounding work so your nervous system has something to do in the moment, not just after.
-
Do I have to take medication?
No. Therapy on its own helps most people. If medication becomes something you want to explore, we can refer you to a prescriber and coordinate care — our founder's nursing background means we take the mind-body piece seriously.
-
Can we meet online?
Yes. Anxiety therapy is offered in person in Oak Lawn, IL and Marietta, GA, and via telehealth across Illinois, Georgia, and Florida.
