Child therapy that meets kids where they actually are
Kids don't sit on couches and unpack their week. They play, draw, negotiate, refuse, and eventually — with the right adult in the room — tell you something true. Our child work is built for that.
In person in Oak Lawn, IL & Marietta, GA · Telehealth across Illinois, Georgia & Florida

Child therapy at Growth & Guidance is play- and art-informed, developmentally attuned, and never disconnected from you as the parent or caregiver. We start where your child is — not where a symptom checklist says they should be — and we plan the work from there.
Kids come in for a lot of reasons: big feelings after a change (new sibling, divorce, a move), anxiety that's showing up as tummy aches or refusal, trouble at school, sleep struggles, worries about a friend or a body, and the kinds of behavior that leave parents genuinely confused. We take all of that seriously and translate it into a plan you can understand.

Common questions
-
How can therapy help a child who won't talk about feelings?
That's most kids. Which is exactly why child therapy uses play, art, story, and structured activities — the child leads, and the clinician reads what's showing up in the play. It's how feelings that don't yet have words get processed.
-
Do you work with children on the autism spectrum?
Yes. Kaylah Keitt (GA) brings over three years of ABA experience working with children on the autism spectrum and uses a person-centered approach with play, art, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, and CBT tools. Anna Aranda (IL) offers ABA-Informed Behavioral Support Services alongside family and parenting support.
-
What's the youngest age you see?
Kaylah sees clients ages 4 and up. Anna sees children and adolescents; the right starting age depends on the child and the concern. A consult call is a good way to check fit before booking.
-
How involved will I be as a parent?
Deeply. Kids don't heal in isolation — you're part of the treatment plan. That looks like check-ins, coaching around what's happening at home, and clear language for what your child is working on, in ways that respect their privacy.
Not sure where to start? A 10-minute call is a low-pressure way to find the right fit.
