Shanita Sievels

LSW

Counseling Therapist

As a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), I am deeply committed to serving individuals and families through compassionate, client-centered care rooted in the principles of servant leadership. I believe that true impact begins with meeting people where they are—honoring their lived experiences, respecting their individuality, and walking alongside them as they reclaim their voice, power, and self-autonomy.

My professional background includes specialized experience in military social work, crisis intervention, and behavioral health, with a strong focus on supporting veterans, high-risk populations, and individuals experiencing acute emotional distress. I provide individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, tailoring each approach to meet the unique needs of those I serve. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and utilize trauma-informed approaches to address a wide range of mental health concerns, with particular expertise in childhood trauma. I work with individuals across the lifespan, from early childhood through older adulthood (ages 3–65+), with a dedicated emphasis on children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 3–25), recognizing the critical importance of early intervention and developmental support.

Throughout my career, I have conducted comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments, implemented effective safety planning, and provided evidence-based interventions that promote healing, resilience, and long-term stability. I am passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered to take ownership of their personal growth and healing journey.

Guided by servant leadership as my core value, I approach my work with humility, empathy, and a commitment to uplifting others. I strive to restore a sense of control and self-determination in those I serve, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to navigate life's challenges. My work is grounded in collaboration, advocacy, and psychoeducation, with the goal of strengthening individuals, families, and communities.

I am a proud graduate of Park University in Parkville, Missouri, where I earned my Master's degree in Social Work. My mission is to continue making a meaningful difference by empowering others, fostering resilience, and contributing to healthier, more supported communities.
