Faith-friendly counseling that makes room for what grounds you
Your beliefs are part of your context, not something to leave at the door. If faith or spirituality matters to you, it's welcome in your sessions, as much or as little as you want.
In person in Oak Lawn, IL & Marietta, GA · Telehealth across Illinois, Georgia & Florida

Faith can be a source of strength, community, and meaning when life gets hard. It can also feel complicated, especially when you're wrestling with doubt, grief, guilt, or a sense that you should be able to pray or push your way through on your own.
At Growth & Guidance, Jalinia Logan and several of our clinicians integrate spiritual perspectives when clients want them, and never impose them when they don't. Jalinia, our founder, believes in treating the whole person, including the biopsychosocial, physical, and spiritual parts of life, and she draws on spiritually-integrated approaches alongside CBT, psychodynamic, and solution-focused work.
You set the terms. You might want your faith woven into how you understand your story and your next steps. You might simply want a therapist who won't dismiss it. Either is welcome here.
How we help
Faith-friendly counseling uses the same clinical approaches as any other session, with your values and beliefs treated as part of the picture. Your therapist will ask what role, if any, you want spirituality to play, and then follow your lead.

Faith and therapy can work together
You might worry that seeing a therapist means your faith wasn't enough. Therapy doesn't ask you to choose. It can sit alongside prayer, worship, community, and whatever spiritual practices sustain you, and it gives you practical tools for the parts of life that still feel heavy.
If you come from a family or community where mental health wasn't talked about, that hesitation makes sense. Needing support is the most human thing there is, and reaching out for it is a strength, not a failure.
If you'd rather leave faith out
That's welcome too. Spiritual perspectives are only part of your sessions if you ask for them. Whatever your beliefs, or if you don't hold any, you can expect respect for your background, your values, and your pace.
Where we meet

Common questions
-
Do I have to be religious to see a therapist here?
No. Spiritual perspectives are part of therapy only when clients want them, and they are never imposed when they don't. You're welcome here whatever you believe.
-
Will my therapist share my faith?
Your clinician may or may not share your specific beliefs. What you can expect is respect for them, and a willingness to include them in your care if you'd like. On your free consult, tell us what matters most, and we'll match you with the clinician most likely to work well for you.
-
What can I bring to faith-friendly counseling?
Anything you would bring to therapy: anxiety, depression, grief, stress, relationships, or a big life change. The clinical approaches are the same, such as CBT and solution-focused therapy, with room for your spiritual perspective when you want it.
-
Can couples or families ask for faith-friendly sessions?
You're welcome to ask. We offer individual, couple, and family counseling, and you can tell us on your free consult that you'd like spiritual perspectives included.
