# Grief counseling that doesn't ask you to move on

Grief isn't a project to finish. It's the shape love takes after loss. Our job is to keep you company while you learn to carry it — not to hurry you out of it.

The people who come to us for grief work aren't looking for someone to fix what can't be fixed. They're looking for a room where the loss can be true out loud — where they don't have to translate for the person listening, or protect anyone from what they're actually feeling.

We work with grief that follows death, and grief that follows things people around you might not count: an estrangement, a diagnosis, a pregnancy loss, an identity that had to change, a parent who couldn't be the parent you needed. All of it makes sense here.

Grief moves in waves. Some sessions are full of story and tears; others are strangely light. Some are about the practical work of getting through a first birthday without them. We hold all of those the same.

## How we help

- Narrative work that honors who or what you lost, in your own words
- Continuing-bonds approaches — you don't have to 'let go' to keep living
- Support around anniversary reactions, complicated grief, and delayed grief
- Practical grounding for the sleep, appetite, and concentration hits grief brings
- Space for anger, guilt, relief, and the feelings people tell you not to have
- Coordination with medical care when grief and depression braid together

## Common questions

- ### It's been years — is it too late for grief counseling?

It's not. Grief doesn't obey a calendar. Anniversaries, milestones your person didn't get to see, and new losses can pull old grief back into the room. Whenever you're ready is the right time.

- ### What if I'm grieving something that isn't a death?

That belongs here. The end of a marriage, a diagnosis that changed your future, a miscarriage, an estrangement, the version of your life that closed — those are real losses and they deserve real space.

- ### Will I have to cry in every session?

No. Sometimes grief looks like tears, sometimes like anger, numbness, or a strange kind of relief. Whatever shape it takes on a given day is welcome.
